Aside from her work with The Irish Catholic, Breda O’Brien is a second-level teacher, and a columnist with The Irish Times. She graduated as a teacher of religion and English from Mater Dei, and has a Master’s Degree in Communications from DCU on the topic of Church and media. She is a frequent contributor to media debates on social, religious and educational issues. She is a patron of The Iona Institute, and has written papers for it on assisted human reproduction and pornography. She is married with four children.
